Our Creative Gender Reveal

A Splatter of Joy!

When my husband and I found out we were expecting, I knew I wanted to do something memorable and creative for our gender reveal. As someone who loves to mix creativity with family traditions, we came up with an idea that would not only be fun but also something we could cherish for years to come—art that everyone could participate in!

For our reveal, we hosted a cozy celebration in my mother’s backyard, complete with pink and blue decorations, a lovely spread of food, and cupcakes in pink (strawberry) and blue (blueberry).

I got a few things to decorate the tables at Walmart as wells as the paints. Then i printed the stickers and made the voting sign on some cardboard. I used this vinyl for the stickers ()

But the real excitement was all about the eggs!

We asked a close friend to help with the big surprise. She filled a dozen eggs with paint—11 of them were filled with neutral colors, and one special egg was filled with the gender-revealing color.

Each guest took turns throwing the eggs at a blank canvas, one by one, splattering it with colorful bursts. The anticipation grew with each throw, until finally, a bright pink egg hit the canvas. It was official—we were having a girl!

It was such a joyful moment, shared with all our closest friends and family, and what made it even more special was the beautiful artwork we created together. That splatter-painted canvas now hangs in our home, a reminder of the day we found out we were welcoming our sweet Aurora.

If you’re planning a gender reveal, I highly recommend turning it into something interactive, fun, and meaningful. Not only do we have a lasting memory of that day, but a piece of art that symbolizes the love and excitement everyone brought to the celebration.

Thank you to all of our family and friends who helped us create this beautiful memory.
